What assistance may help with

A repayable second mortgage, explained plainly

Colorado Champions is expected to pair a 30 year fixed first mortgage with a CHFA DPA Second Mortgage Loan of up to the lesser of $25,000 or 4% of your first mortgage amount. This is not free money and not a grant. It carries 0% interest and no monthly payment, and repayment becomes due when your first mortgage is paid off, you sell, you refinance, or the home stops being your primary residence. Proceeds can go toward a down payment, closing costs, or prepaid items.

Illustration only: on a $400,000 first mortgage, the 4% ceiling would be $16,000, under the $25,000 cap. This is a hypothetical mortgage example, not your personal assistance amount.
